Quinta dos Carvalhais Tinto 2023 is a refined Portuguese red wine from the renowned Dão region, crafted by one of Portugal's most respected estates. A blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz, it reflects the elegance and freshness that define Dão wines. Deep ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries and plums, complemented by floral notes of violet, subtle spice and hints of cedar. The palate is medium to full-bodied with polished tannins, vibrant acidity and concentrated dark fruit flavours, leading to a smooth, balanced and persistent finish.

Production Notes
The grapes are harvested from selected vineyards in the Dão DOC and fermented under temperature-controlled conditions. Each grape variety is vinified separately before blending, with part of the wine matured in French oak barrels for several months to enhance complexity while preserving the freshness and fruit character typical of the region.
Tasting Notes
Expressive aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum and violet are supported by notes of black pepper, cocoa, vanilla and subtle oak. The palate is elegant and well-structured with ripe tannins, balanced acidity and flavours of dark berries, spice and gentle minerality, finishing long and harmonious.
Food Pairings
Ideal with grilled steaks, roast lamb, pork dishes, game, beef stew, mushroom risotto, hard cheeses and traditional Portuguese cuisine. It also pairs beautifully with chargrilled vegetables and tomato-based pasta dishes.

We offer free next-day delivery on all UK Mainland orders over £150. For orders under £150, a delivery fee of £10 applies. We also deliver to Northern Ireland, the Highlands, Scottish Isles, and the Scilly Isles for £12, and to the Isle of Man for £20. Orders are dispatched Wednesday to Friday, with cheese orders specifically dispatched on Wednesday and Thursday.
Yes, we offer a Click & Collect service. Orders will be ready for collection one hour after placing the order. You can collect from our shop in Bromley Cross, Bolton, Wednesday to Sunday during our opening hours (Finchley Wines).
You can return items within 30 days of purchase if they are unused and in the same condition as received, including original packaging. However, certain items like perishable goods and gift cards are non-returnable. Refunds will be processed once the returned item is inspected and approved.
