ALLERGENS

In accordance with the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation (December 2014), we are required to provide information about allergenic ingredients contained in the products we supply.

Among the 14 recognised allergens listed under the regulation, the following may apply to some of our products:

Wine
Some wines may contain traces of egg or milk products used as fining agents (for example, egg albumen in red wines and milk casein in white wines). Wines may also contain sulphur dioxide (sulphites), which is commonly used as a preservative.

Beers, Lagers and Ciders
These beverages may include cereals such as barley, wheat, rye or oats, and in some cases sulphur dioxide or citric-based cordials.

Spirits and Liqueurs
If any allergenic ingredients are used in their natural form, such as nuts in cherry liqueurs, cream in Irish cream liqueurs, or eggs in Advocaat, this will be clearly indicated on the product label.

Where a distillate or liqueur contains a redistilled extract of ingredients such as nuts or milk, these do not require allergen notification as the active allergen is denatured during distillation.

Please note that wines produced prior to 2012 may not include allergen labelling, so it should not be assumed that they are allergen-free.

If you would like more information about allergens in any of our products, we are happy to provide this on request. Please contact us at sales@finchleywine.co.uk for assistance.

If you have any concerns about how allergens may affect your health, please seek advice from your GP or healthcare professional.
