La Bernardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2021 is a benchmark Southern Rhône red produced by Maison M. Chapoutier.
It is made entirely from Grenache, showcasing the variety’s richness, depth, and spice. The wine takes its name from a 13th-century papal hunting lodge (La Bernardine), a reminder of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s historic ties to the Avignon papacy.
The 2021 vintage, cooler and fresher than the hot years preceding it, has yielded wines of elegance, moderate alcohol, and lifted aromatics, making this cuvée refined and approachable while retaining its age-worthy structure.

Production Notes
100% Grenache from vineyards with stony galets roulés soils. Hand-harvested, destemmed, and traditionally vinified in concrete tanks. Aged partly in vats and partly in large oak casks to preserve fruit purity while adding texture. Certified organic and biodynamic farming.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet red. Aromas of raspberry, blackberry, cherry compote, liquorice, and garrigue herbs. The palate is full-bodied yet fresh, with ripe red fruit, subtle spice, and silky tannins. The finish is long and elegant, with savoury complexity.
Food Pairings
Best 2024–2034. Ideal with roast lamb, venison, beef stew, grilled vegetables, and Mediterranean cuisine. Also excellent with aged cheeses.

We offer free next-day delivery on all UK Mainland orders over £150. For orders under £150, a delivery fee of £10 applies. We also deliver to Northern Ireland, the Highlands, Scottish Isles, and the Scilly Isles for £12, and to the Isle of Man for £20. Orders are dispatched Wednesday to Friday, with cheese orders specifically dispatched on Wednesday and Thursday.
Yes, we offer a Click & Collect service. Orders will be ready for collection one hour after placing the order. You can collect from our shop in Bromley Cross, Bolton, Wednesday to Sunday during our opening hours (Finchley Wines).
You can return items within 30 days of purchase if they are unused and in the same condition as received, including original packaging. However, certain items like perishable goods and gift cards are non-returnable. Refunds will be processed once the returned item is inspected and approved.
