Fradiles Bagadiu Bovale 2025

Price

£39.99

Fradiles Bagadiu Bovale 2025 is a distinctive Sardinian red produced exclusively from Bovale Sardo, locally known as Muristellu. The grapes come from vineyards around Atzara, situated approximately 500 metres above sea level on the western side of the Gennargentu mountains. The decomposed granite and sandy soils contribute freshness and savoury mineral character, while the native Bovale variety provides structure, personality and concentrated fruit. “Bagadìu” means “unmarried” in Sardinian, reflecting the wine’s independent, decisive character.

Production Notes

The Bovale Sardo grapes are harvested in October from goblet- and espalier-trained vines. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, followed by approximately 15 days of skin maceration. The wine is then matured in wooden barrels and bottle for around eight months.

Tasting Notes

Ruby red with subtle garnet reflections. The nose offers ripe red fruit, sour cherry, floral and herbaceous notes. The palate is decisive yet approachable, with savoury freshness, Mediterranean herbs, warm spice, structured tannins and a persistent finish.

Food Pairing

Excellent with roast lamb, grilled or braised beef, wild boar, venison, rich meat pasta dishes and mature Sardinian cheeses. Serve at approximately 16–18°C.

Born from the passion of two wine enthusiasts, Finchley Wine is more than just a bottle shop. It is the result of five years of dreaming, planning, and sourcing with purpose.
